The application for a Domino’s Pizza shop has been refused by Tower Hamlets.

The main reasons for this objection listed in the report are:

  • a detrimental impact on local amenities (over-concentration of hot food takeaways and increase in noise)
  • design and scale of the extract duct and its impact on the conservation area
  • safety of users of the surrounding highway network

Weavers Safer Neighborhoods Public Meeting

When: 20th July 2011
Time
: 17:30- 1930
Where
: Tab Centre, Austin Street E2

“There are two sides to every story.” Almost everyone has heard this saying before. But does there really have to be two sides to every story? Can’t everyone work together in the same story? Currently the police and residents of the area seem to be working on two different sides. This is exactly what the Weavers Safer Neighborhoods Team (SNT) does not want. They are working alongside Tower Hamlets Homes to work towards a safer place for you to live. They are here to help address the concerns of the residents, but cannot do so without input from you. They can only act and address concerns of the residents once they know what those concerns are.

An opportunity to meet and talk to your local police is coming up on the 20th of July at 17:30 – 19:30 at the Tab Centre (Austin Street E2).  One-on-one conversations with the SNT will be possible to really get your voice heard. Sergeant Steve Mangham (our senior policeman) will also be there to answer any questions you may have. The information you say will be entirely confidential. So if you have any concerns about the safety of our neighborhoods, go along to the meeting on the 20th, and have your say so residents and the police can finally work together on the same side to solve issues.
